The female group Xscape hit the 90’s like a ton of bricks, these four young ladies who were dressed like boys hit the scene and we were fans for life. Xscape had three platinum albums and six top ten hit songs on the Billboard charts during the 90s, “Just Kickin’ It”, “Who Can I Run To”, “The Arms of the One Who Loves You”, and “My Little Secret”.
The original members of the group were sisters LaTocha and Tamika Scott, Kandi Burruss and Tameka “Tiny” Cottle were friends which made up the four girl group. Now these ladies have reunited after almost twenty years for a four part documentary or reality show as they reunite. The ladies have teamed up with Love and Hip Hop creator Mona Scott-Young, for this four part series and we already know its gonna be a hit.
The show will follow the group with cameras as they prepare for their long awaited tour and what it takes for them to prepare to hit that stage after twenty years of being apart. This should be interesting, all of these are outspoken, they are moms with husbands, they were young in the 90’s and a bunch of girls trying to out do each other wouldn’t last and the many rumors surrounding the teens definitely didn’t make it much better.
The trailer gives a sneak, naturally four grown women who broke up will have drama as they reunite on a reality show in front of millions of viewers and fans. For me, Kandi needs to pass that mic over to LaTocha Scott, she cannot sing live or she needs voice lessons or just continue to write hit songs but she should really quit singing. She could never really sing in the first place and now she definitely can’t sing, so yes there will more than a little bit of drama with these ladies.
Xscape was signed by Jermaine Dupri in 90’s, who will appear on the show and allegedly has issues with Kandi. Now that sounds real interesting, Kandi thinks she big bank, top rank but he’s the reason they are here today.
“The f—k is wrong with y’all,” Jermaine asks in the trailer!!
When the group broke up, we were disappointed and confused, we heard so many stories and rumors, and real talk, even today we still don’t know why they really broke up the group that was making a huge impact in the 90’s. Kandi and Tiny became a Grammy Award winning songwriters and reality stars, Tiny also decided to put her music on hold for her family as she supported her estranged husband TI as he rose to the top, LaTocha can definitely SANG, she is ready to get the group to the next level and Tamika who recently had a baby is ready as well, she can sing too.
The group performed at the BET Awards this year and Kandi sounded a hot a$$ mess, they also performed at VH1’s Hip Honors 2017 and again Kandi sounded a hot a$$ mess. Somebody needs to tell her to stop singing live, its embarrassing and as outspoken as she is to others, she can take the negative feedback. Looking forward to watching these ladies as they get back on stage and do what they all do best.

Cardi B Nominated For Two Grammy’s
“Love & Hip Hop: New York” former reality star Cardi B has exceeded her dreams in the year 2017, from a stripper to an Instagram sensation to a reality star and now a rapper, Cardi B has been nominated for two Grammy Awards. Talk about never allowing the past to define your future, Cardi B is an inspiration to anyone who has a dream and a past, never give on your dream and sometimes your past may work in your favor.
The “regular, degular, shmegular girl from the Bronx” was not only the breakout reality star but her catch-phrases and her no nonsense attitude filled our television screens every week for an hour. We instantly fell in love with the girl from the Bronx and we are definitely happy to see her in the space she’s in.
Cardi has been nominated for two Grammy Awards which is a first for a female rapper. Her song, “Bodak Yellow” has been nominated for two Grammy’s, rap song and rap performance, the category rap performance is a new one on me. That’s really odd but I’m not hating on Cardi, I’m glad to see that she has been nominated for any song this year. This was her first year as a performer, that was a feat in itself.
She put out her first mix tape, “Gangsta B4tch Music, Vol. 1,” last year, it was a little heavy but with her catch-phrases it didn’t do so bad for her first release. “Vol. 2” was released at the beginning of the year, and by the spring, she signed a deal with Atlantic Records. That’s when “Bodak Yellow,” hit and it became the new women’s anthem.
“Bodak Yellow” raced up the charts and knocking Taylor Swift off the top of the pop category. She became the first female rapper to score a solo No. 1 since Lauryn Hill’s “Doo Wop (That Thing)” almost twenty years ago. She did that by herself without any collaborations, that’s what you call a real hustler!!
Everything seems to be glowing up roses for Cardi, she is now engaged to Offset from the Migos and plans to marry her rapper fiance’ on a VH1 special!! We are so proud of Cardi B and her accomplishments and we wish her the best of luck with her Grammy nominations. The look on Nicki Minaj’s face I’m sure is priceless.
