Power Recap!!

Power Recap…………………………………………….I haven’t met a person who doesn’t love Tommy, so seeing him being booked in jail and having to face Angela in court was so ugly and his heart broke. But because she was so aggressive in trying to get Lobo’s and Ghost locked up, she f$cked up and Ghost had Tommy’s back to the end.

Angela’s supervisor Mike wants to know how Angela knew about Lobos being at the hotel. In episode 6, Lobos alludes to having an inside man in the Feds. I’m guessing Mike is the inside man. Angela makes up a lie to cover her tracks. Privately, Greg tells Angela he knows she’s lying and tells Angela the ramifications of her lies.

Jamie lets Angela know that he knows Tommy was arrested because of her efforts suggests that since Lobos was arrested to ease up off of Tommy. Jamie reminds Angela that she’s from the same neighborhood and snitching violates everything they grew up on. Angela considers his warning.

Kanan schools Shawn on how to shoot Ghost and instructs Shawn to drive carefully from Queens to Manhattan. Dre instructs Shawn to bring him to a warehouse where they will handle the rest. Shawn is not about that life and Kanan is trying to make him be the man he is, which is nothing but a wannabe drug dealer.

Tasha flips out on Ghost for allowing Tommy to be arrested and allowing Angela to outsmart him. Tasha says the OLD Ghost would have never let this happen and she doesn’t trust this NEW Ghost. She actually said, “the d$ck must not be sh$t,” it did seem as if Ghost was getting played by Angela the whole time but he had us fooled. He couldn’t get to the top without a plan a, plan b or a plan c.

Tommy wants to know why Ghost wasn’t arrested and Proctor explains that Ghost was running late, saw the Feds surrounding the building and didn’t enter. Tommy doesn’t trust Proctor and feels that Ghost could be setting him up to take the fall.

Tasha tells Lakeisha that she’s going to runaway with the kids and $200,000 in cash and start a new life minus Ghost. Lakeisha strongly advises against this and she needs to listen to her friend because Tasha thinks she is two steps ahead of the game, when she is five steps back. Later, Tasha confides to her that Tommy could be in jail for a long time and she can’t trust Ghost. Tasha tells Shawn about her plan to runaway and wants to take Shawn with her and the kids.

Ghost gets in the car with Shawn who is mentally trying to prepare himself to kill Ghost on Kana’s instructions. As he is about turn around and shoot his current employer, the car is stopped by the police, removing the opportunity to kill Ghost. Shawn texts Kanan to tell him he fail and Kanan decides to go to plan B.

Angela arranges a meeting with Tommy privately in prison. She offers to reduce his sentence from life to 15 years if he testifies against Lobos to which Tommy flips out. Accusing Angela of protecting her boyfriend, Tommy offers to roll over on Jamie. The meeting is cut short by Tommy’s lawyer.

Prosecutor pulls the evidence of the sketch that Angela completed with the assistance of Ruiz’s daughter. In season one, Angela asks Ruiz’s daughter Isabella to complete a partial sketch which was started by Nomar. Angela did not get consent to work with Isabella who is a crime bosses daughter and a minor.

The Feds did not include the completed sketch as evidence to the judge. They only presented the partial sketch which Angela claimed was a clerical error. The judge disagrees and the case is dismissed with prejudice. Free at last! Free at last. Thank God almighty, Thomas Eghan is free at last. If looks could kill, they would be both dead. I’m just happy Tommy got released and he wasn’t a snitch, they wanted him to snitch on Lobos but he wouldn’t budge. The Feds were so dirty, they called his mom in to try and force him to snitch but he is loyal to a fault.

The act of a plaintiff dismissing a lawsuit upon settling the case. Such a dismissal may be dismissal with prejudice, meaning it can never be filed again, or dismissal without prejudice, leaving open the possibility of bringing the suit again if the defendant does not follow through on the terms of the settlement.

The judge also suggests that someone, ahem Angela, receive disciplinary action.

Angela storms into Jamie’s office at Truth. Angela accuses Jamie of stealing the completed sketch from her apartment while Jamie accuses Angela of cloning his phone. Touche! Angela asks Jamie if he is Ghost, which he denies. Angela leaves Truth with a farewell “Fuck you Ghost.”

At Truth, Jamie goes downstairs to get more top shelf liquor and is held at gunpoint by Shawn. Why would Shawn be waiting there and not in the car?
Jamie calmly explains to Shawn that whoever put him up to this should have told him to wear a different set of clothes because of blow back. Shawn tries to talk himself into shooting Uncle G down to telling Ghost that he’s been ‘taking care of Tasha.’ As expected Shawn fails to shoot Ghost and Ghost *allows* Shawn to live. Ghost is so gangster and confident that Shawn won’t kill him that he gives Shawn back his gun and tells him to leave New York ASAP. That’s a G and Ghost is the sh$t, he could have killed Shawn but he didn’t.

While doing surveillance on Angela, Greg figures out that Jamie and Ghost are one in the same. Greg approaches Angela and states that he believes that she has been covering for her boyfriend Jamie which is why Tommy got away. Before Greg can leave the office, Angela confesses to Greg that Jamie set her up too and wants to start building a case against Ghost to take him down. Greg already knows not to trust her, she is too sneaky and Ghost figured her out just in time.

Shawn texts Tasha to be ready to leave in the next hour and decides to meet with Kanan. Shawn gives Kanan back the gun to which Kanan notices it hasn’t been used and Shawn’s clothing has no evidence of blow back. Shawn wants to have a heart to heart talk with Kanan but comments how Shawn has disappointed him – again.

And what do YOU think happens next? And just like that, Kanan is the worst father ever and extremely cruel. Kanan shoots Shawn after he reveals his Uncle G exposed the truth about Kanan. He was setting Shawn up but after he shot him the first time, he told him he wasn’t his father and then blasted him. DAMN!! He is out cold, Ghost needs to be extra careful but Shawn did disclose the relationship with Tasha and that really got to Ghost and that was how he was able to get the gun from Tasha.

Dumb a$$ Tasha at the house packing all of their things when she gets a text from Shawn saying he is on his way but he won’t be. What is Tasha going to do now?? Ghost is now aware of the affair she had with Shawn but he has no room to talk, he was sleeping with Angela, state prosecutor, he needs to sit his a$$ down somewhere

What do you think is going to happen in the season finale of Power? According to IMDB, the episode is titled Ghost Is Dead. Could that be?

Queen Sugar Finale

Queen Sugar Finale aired and it left us with a lot of questions and that’s the way a show should end. One of the best drama series on tv right now, hate the season ended but it gives us a reason to get ready for next season!!

Nova is sitting with her reporter friend at the farmhouse while her friend interviews one of the farmers that works at the farm. Darla shows up; she wants to get some of her things from inside the house, but Nova isn’t having it, she already doesn’t trust Darla, and can’t understand why she never told anyone the truth about Blue, and why she would tell now? Darla held on to this secret for 7 years. Darla tries to explains her lies, she chose what she thought was best for Blue, but Nova tells her; she chose lies, not what was best.

Hollywood receives a phone call from the lawyer from the rig lawsuit, who tells him that the company settled for triple the amount they originally thought they would. Hollywood screams to V that they are now rich. Hollywood is the type of person who will share his money with the world.

Ralph Angel confronts Darla about her lies and she tells him she couldn’t remember who she slept with at that time and she did what she thought was best for Blue. Empire Recap

Empire has returned and I am so happy, this episode didn’t disappoint but the last few were a disappointment. So how does Lucious go from not remembering his past and not walking to walking and remembering more of his past every day? I am so confused but this episode was definitely entertaining.

Hakeem and Anika are in family court fighting each other for full custody of baby Bella. I must say, Hakeem stepped up to the plate to be the best father he could be and now he’s fighting Anika for his daughter. The morning of the hearing, of course Hakeem has his family in court with him as well as Tiana.

The courtroom is full of vultures, who will do whatever it takes to get the next story to sell, they have cameras and picket signs in the court room. This female judge wasn’t playing with anybody and she seems like a tough judge. I didn’t know Angelo was an attorney, I thought his cousin was the attorney but I guess not because he is Anika’s attorney and everyone knows that he is only trying to get back at Cookie for humiliating him. Angelo gives his opening argument, the judge sends best wishes to his mother.

Angelo goes all the way in on the Lyons and praises Anika when he doesn’t even know her. Does the judge know that Anika killed her future son in laws baby by pushing her off the balcony? Anika is very sneaky, she always has a trick bag with her and this makes no difference. While Angelo praises Anika, he doesn’t praise Hakeem, he talked about his drug and sex parties. Angelo calls The Lyons criminals and thugs, he says they are not in a position to have baby Bella with them at all. Anika did do time, her skeletons came out in court and she was still able to get full custody of her daughter.

Hakeem is definitely worried about his baby, Angelo calls Cookie to the stand, and prison comes up. Cookie is smart, her street smartness gives her game, she knew how to handle herself in court. She talks about Hakeem and how he’s a wonderful father to his daughter, the kind of parent she wanted to be but couldn’t. Angelo brings up the fight between Anika and Cookie, calling Cookie violent but never saying anything bad about Anika. At one point in her life Anika was going to kill herself and she asked Cookie to take care of Bella. All of a sudden whack a$$ Angelo brings up that Cookie had thugs beat him up.

Lucious is back, the real Lucious but I’m still not convinced that he ever lost his memory, I believe he was just playing his part. Lucious decides he wants to testify and he gets that chance, when Angelo asks Lucious about his past as “the scariest man in music,” Lucious claims he can’t remember due to his memory loss. Lucious loves Bella and all the memories she’s given him, because of Bella, he wants to try and change his ways for the best!

Hakeem, decides to fire his lawyer and speak for himself, he really didn’t have a legitimate reason as to why he fired him but he did and that was that. He gets Anika on the stand asking personal questions about Bella. Then Hakeem reminds her that his door was always open; he wanted her to get to know Bella, but she had to file this custody suit on him.

Mrs. DuBois has returned just in time to throw Hakeem under the bus, she gets on the stand and talks about how she finds Hakeem a very pleasant young man, which she knows because he’s spent every Tuesday afternoon with her for the past five months. The look on Cookie’s face was priceless. Mrs. Dubois also videotaped their meetings, he betrayed his family when he says terrible, damning things about every single member of his family: Jamal has his pills, Andre has his illness, he also says Andre’s baby dying was “probably for the best”, Hakeem wishes Cookie was still in jail, and Lucious is a monster.

Of course the judge rules and gives Anika full custody of baby Bella. Hakeem is devastated, the entire Lyon family is hurting for Hakeem and Bella.
