“Love & Hip Hop: New York” former reality star Cardi B has exceeded her dreams in the year 2017, from a stripper to an Instagram sensation to a reality star and now a rapper, Cardi B has been nominated for two Grammy Awards. Talk about never allowing the past to define your future, Cardi B is an inspiration to anyone who has a dream and a past, never give on your dream and sometimes your past may work in your favor.
The “regular, degular, shmegular girl from the Bronx” was not only the breakout reality star but her catch-phrases and her no nonsense attitude filled our television screens every week for an hour. We instantly fell in love with the girl from the Bronx and we are definitely happy to see her in the space she’s in.
Cardi has been nominated for two Grammy Awards which is a first for a female rapper. Her song, “Bodak Yellow” has been nominated for two Grammy’s, rap song and rap performance, the category rap performance is a new one on me. That’s really odd but I’m not hating on Cardi, I’m glad to see that she has been nominated for any song this year. This was her first year as a performer, that was a feat in itself.
She put out her first mix tape, “Gangsta B4tch Music, Vol. 1,” last year, it was a little heavy but with her catch-phrases it didn’t do so bad for her first release. “Vol. 2” was released at the beginning of the year, and by the spring, she signed a deal with Atlantic Records. That’s when “Bodak Yellow,” hit and it became the new women’s anthem.
“Bodak Yellow” raced up the charts and knocking Taylor Swift off the top of the pop category. She became the first female rapper to score a solo No. 1 since Lauryn Hill’s “Doo Wop (That Thing)” almost twenty years ago. She did that by herself without any collaborations, that’s what you call a real hustler!!
Everything seems to be glowing up roses for Cardi, she is now engaged to Offset from the Migos and plans to marry her rapper fiance’ on a VH1 special!! We are so proud of Cardi B and her accomplishments and we wish her the best of luck with her Grammy nominations. The look on Nicki Minaj’s face I’m sure is priceless.
Empire Finale!! The episode begins with Andre singing, he can actually sing but I should have known that is was dream. Andre had a psychotic break after last week’s episode when he confessed to the lady cop he was f$cking. He is now in the hospital, the Dubois’s have a doctor in the palm of their hands and he gave him enough drugs to almost kill himself.
Warren looked a hot a$$ mess, Jamal tapped that a$$ for playing him like a sucker. However, he has since come to his senses and he appeared at Jamal’s home to apologize and to reveal the rest of the revenge plot Diana Dubois has in store for his family. Jamal immediately informed Cookie and Lucious about the Dubois plot. Their plot worked, the Lyons infiltrated the Captain’s ball with a duet by Jamal and Hakeem. Cookie got on stage and revealed all over Diana’s secrets, for instance, kidnapping baby Bella, Andre could lose his life and now Luscious has been kidnapped. Diana was led by the police in handcuffs for kidnapping Bella. When Warren exposed his aunt Diana, that was it for Angelo, he vowed to handle his misfit a$$ cousin. Angelo located Warren in a hotel and a few minutes later Jamal showed up. Angelo pointed the gun at Warren and shot him in the shoulder, Jamal got pissed, how dare he shoot the man of his life even though he betrayed him. Jamal and Angelo struggled for the gun and Jamal shot and killed Angelo.
While in the hospital Lucious was right by Andre’s side, with the drugs in his system he confessed to Lucious that he was the one who set up the car bombing that claimed his leg and nearly his life. Before Lucious could even say anything, Claudia, the whacky a$$ nurse is standing over Lucious as she injected him with an altered mind drug.
“My sweet, sweet Dwight,” she cooed. “I told you I would never leave you. Never.”
Hakeem blackmailed Anika into giving him primary custody of Bella and I am so glad he got her back. Anika played for the wrong team, the Lyons always get what they want and need and now she has lost her daughter. “You will no longer use her as a pawn to get to me or my family,” he informed her.
Lucious gave Cookie an ultimatum: “Either you’re moving into my bedroom, or you’re moving out of the house.” She opted for Plan B.
