A Fan Tried Big Sean!!
Rapper Big Sean was allegedly slapped by a fan during an autograph signing. The rapper took Twitter to address the incident which took place in Queens, N.Y. The Detroit rapper says that he was not slapped and the man who confronted him was mentally ill and was off his medication.
The mentally ill man was quickly apprehended by Big Sean’s body guards and then police came and arrested the man. Big Sean was standing in the background as he watched the man get handcuffed on the ground, the rapper was not harmed in any way. So, glad this situation didn’t escalate to something more violent and Big Sean wasn’t hurt.
In a series of tweets, Big Sean said that the guy was released from a mental hospital and was off his medication. He also apologized to his fans for the event being shut down afterwards.
“I wanted to keep the signing going but the store shut it down. Sorry it got ruined for the rest of the real fans,” he wrote. “I got the #1 Album in the country currently and am grateful for every listener who got love for me. Everyday a dream come true.”
Although the slap wasn’t captured on video, a video has surfaced where the alleged perpetrator was being arrested by police. During the arrest, the man yells “You p—y, n—-!” and shouted out Birdman. As police officers escorted the man out of the building in handcuffs, he told Big Sean to “tell Jay Z what’s up.”
Yes, something wasn’t right with him and I’m glad to see they handled the situation very professional. Hopefully he can get the help he needs and this situation won’t occur again.
Of course, after the incident the event was canceled and police cleared the area where a huge crowd was standing outside waiting to see the Big Sean. But, with all that happened, Big Sean needed to leave the area and his autograph signing event had to be shut down. He appeared in good spirits as he left the area as he waved to the fans before driving off.
Big Sean released his I Decided. album earlier this month and it topped the Billboard 200 chart its debut week. The single, “Bounce Back” is his highest-charting track yet as it sits at #6 on the Hot 100. Other fan meet and greets have gone without any issues, including his pop-up shops in support of the project.
